Buying With Us

Catalogues for each sale are available online from 17:00 on the Friday prior to the sale. Hard copies are available in the Warrington Saleroom from 08:00 on the Tuesday prior to every sale for a small fee of £1.00 each.

After you've registered (you will be asked for photographic ID so please have your driving license or passport ready) and collected your paddle number you are free to bid in the auction room. You only need register once for a paddle number and this number may be used at every Warrington & Northwich Auction. The auctioneer will announce bids and if you are interested in buying the item  raise your paddle and continue bidding until you wish to stop, or if everyone else stops bidding the auctioneer will bring down the gavel and you are the 'winner' of the lot. Invoices can be settled immediately after the fall of the hammer with the Office Team.

By Commission Bid

If you are unable to attend an auction you can instruct Warrington & Northwich Auction to bid on your behalf. You can submit your bids to us by filling in the form in the auction room, by email or by submitting your bids via our online bidding platforms. If your bids are successful we will email the invoice to you after the Wednesday auction has ended.

By Telephone

If you prefer to bid by telephone please contact our office on 01925 658833. Unfortunately we cannot offer telephone bids on items which have an estimate of less than £80.00, if you are unsure then please contact the office.  Once you have been registered as a buyer and the telephone line booked, we will call you during the auction and bid on your behalf to your instructions.

Online via Easy Live or The Saleroom

Real-time audio brings the excitement of the auction right to your desktop so you can bid from the comfort of your home or from anywhere in the world. To bid in this way you must register with or Easy Live or The Saleroom prior to the auction beginning. You will be charged an additional 3.6% for bidding with Easy Live or an additional 5.94% for using the facility of The Saleroom.

Tips on Bidding

Most importantly, view the auction if you can. If you are unable to make it to the auction rooms request a condition report as not all lots are free from imperfection and all lots are sold as seen. Speak to our specialists for more information on a particular lot. The most important point is to remember that Buyers Commission will be added onto the hammer price and if you are bidding online, this will be an additional percentage.

Condition Reports

We offer condition reports FREE of charge for all of our sales. We do ask that condition reports are requested via email. We can, at our discretion, offer condition reports over the telephone but please be advised that these will not be held as binding in any way and will purely by the opinion of the person with whom you speak. Condition Reports are offered at the sole discretion of the Auction House and this service can be withdrawn or suspended without any notice. All condition reports must be submitted by 1pm on the day prior to any sale.

Collection of items

All items must be paid for and collected by 17:00 on the Monday following the sale. Any items not paid for or collected by this time will incur a storage charge of £5 per lot per day. We are closed for Saturday collections.
